Sword in the Stone

This project was focused on putting into practice the mechanics of object interaction and character movement. The goal was to have the character try to remove the sword, face resistance, push through it, and successfully remove the sword.

Walk Cycle

The goal of this project was to create a successful and natural-looking walk cycle that would work on a loop.

Crossing the Log

This project was on fluid and natural character movement and balance, focusing on the lower body and torso. The goal was to have the character cross the log, lose their balance, regain it, and jump off the end of the log, without the use of arms for visual effect.

360 Turn

In the first part of this exercise, the goal was to have this model turn in a full 360 circle, only using the hips and legs to portray the movement.

Weight Shift

In the second part of this exercise, the goal was to have this model shift its weight from one foot to the other, once again only using the hips and legs to portray the movement.

Arm Wave

In this exercise, the goal was to create a natural movement for the character waving at someone else. This was done using only the torso and right arm of the model.

Hand Hitting a Table

The goal of this exercise was to have the model’s hand hit the table with force and bounce in a realistic manner.

Cup Pick Up: Constraint

In the first part of this project, the goal was to have the hand pick up the cup. This version was only supposed to utilize the constraining technique for interacting with objects.

Cup Pick up: Parenting

In the second part of this project, the goal was the same. However, this version was only supposed to utilize the parenting technique for interacting with objects.

Sack Jump

The purpose of this exercise was to experiment with the stretch and squash techniques to have this sack jump and land in a visually successful way.
