3D Modeling Work
2020-2022
This is all work I created in my time at RMCAD, utilizing programs Maya and Unreal Engine.
Character Model
Over the course of 8 weeks, I modeled and UV mapped this character in Maya. The goal was to work in passes and sections, starting with a simple block out of half the character, and then going and adding more detail throughout the body. Once half the body was complete, I mirrored the asset to create the other half and UV mapped the completed character.
Castle Throne Room
This project was probably my biggest undertaking during my time at RMCAD. The overarching goal of the project was to create a professional-looking and production-quality environment over the course of 8 weeks using Maya. From start to finish I collected references, developed a narrative for my scene, and staged it with simple assets. From there I created and polished all the assets, UV mapped them, found, created, and applied quality textures and texture maps, and added lighting that fit the scene before finally rendering out quality images.
Above I have included the 3 final rendered images, 3 images from before lighting and textures were applied, and the UV maps for my assets.
Unreal Environment
In this project, the goal was to utilize modular modeling techniques and create assets within Maya to build an environment. The environment was built by importing assets into Unreal Engine and using the modular functionality to create 3 interior environments and an exterior environment that existed in its own world. The environment was supposed to be convincing and suggest a world outside the borders and accessible places.
First Steps
This project was the first full environment that I modeled in Maya. It was simple, a single room in a house, a few assets outside, and simple textures and lighting. Definitely an early step in my adventures in modeling.
